According to a Doosan official, Kim marked the maximum speed of 154 kilometers on the day. It was a rare speed during the regular season of the KBO League. The 2024 season also had to go through various trials and errors, but he tasted his first impressive debut win against the Hanwha Eagles in Daejeon on Apr. 26 with two runs in five innings, and gained valuable experience by being called up by manager Lee Seung-yeop whenever there was a vacancy in the starting lineup. After the season ended, Kim joined the Miyazaki Education League list and boarded a plane to Japan to gain more experience. He expressed his outlook for next season with impressive pitching on the day.
