Kim Se-young hit hard on the final day of the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship on the LPGA Tour, but she was eliminated from the competition for the 스포츠토토 championship due to a lack of one stroke.
Kim Sei-young shot an 8-under 63 with one eagle and six birdies in the third round on the final day of the tournament held at Pinnacle Country Club (par 71) in Rogers, Arkansas on the 30th. Kim Sei-young recorded a total of 16-under 197, but failed to join the extra time between Lucy Lee of the U.S. and Jasmine Suwanapura of Thailand (Thailand, 17-under 196) and finished the tournament alone in third place.
By saving three pars through Hole 13, Kim garnered birdies in three consecutive holes from Hole 14, and is aiming at her 13th win in the LPGA tour. She also made an eagle at a distance of 5 meters at the 488-yard 18th hole (par 5). However, she only had one par to join the team in extra time. Her birdie putt, which slightly moved away from the hole at Hole 17 (par 3), left a regretful note.
The victory went to Suvarnabhumi after two more stretches. It was the third LPGA victory in five years since the 2019 Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational.
Im Jin-hee, who is ranking second in LPGA rookie points, cut down on six shots on the last day to post 11-under 202 overall, tying for 12th with Shin Ji-eun and Grace Kim of Australia. Starting from the 10th hole, Im Jin-hee cut down on six shots with one eagle and four birdies in the first half, but it was regrettable that she could not reduce the number of pars by exchanging two birdies with two bogeys in the second half.
Top rookie point player Saigo Mao Zedong widened the gap with Im by tying for fourth with 14-under 199. As for rookie points, Saigo scored 749 points and Im Jin-hee scored 671.
