North Korea Defeats Japan, World’s 2nd-ranked, to Watch Olympic Table Tennis Recordings

North Korea did not attend the 32nd Tokyo Summer Olympics in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 33rd Paris Olympics in 2024 ended with two silver medals, four bronze medals, and six grand prizes.

Chairman of the State Affairs Commission Kim Jong-un is encouraging the players, saying, “Every gold medal won by fighting for the honor of our country is more valuable and precious than the gold that gives us the belief of victory.” 토토사이트

As North Korea values winning an international sports championship, the Paris Olympics, which failed to win a gold medal, is regrettable. According to a column by an expert on the Japanese portal site Yahoo Japan, however, the runner-up in mixed doubles at table tennis was treated well enough for a 50-minute recorded broadcast.

The mixed doubles at the Paris Olympics was held in the round of 16. North Korea’s Ri Jeong-sik (24) and Kim Geum-young (23) won a silver medal at the event, which was evaluated as the 16th seed, or weakest player.

Ri Jung-sik and Kim Geum-young are the first duo to win the runner-up prize as the lowest-ranked seed, and have made history in mixed doubles at the Summer Olympics. However, the North’s nearly one-hour recording program focused on winning the first match, not silver.

The round of 16 mixed doubles at the Paris Olympics became a hot topic as the second-seeded Japanese national team, Tomokazu Harimoto (21) and Hina Hayata (24), failed to advance to the quarterfinals. It was because they were completely defeated by North Korea’s Ri Jung-sik and Kim Geum-young (5-11, 11-7 4-11, 13-15 10-12).

Tomokazu Harimoto and Hina Hayata dropped one notch to No. 3 in the mixed doubles at the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships. Ri Jeong-sik and Kim Geum-young jumped to No. 10 in the world instantly.
