At around 2:00 am today, hydrochloric acid leaked near the Gwangsan Interchange on the Suncheon-Wanju Expressway in Wanju-gun, Jeollabuk-do.

A driver in his 40s saw smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle and reported it to the police. No casualties have been reported so far.

The police and fire authorities are working on moving the leaked hydrochloric acid to a replacement vehicle, and as soon as the roads are cleared, they plan to determine the amount of hydrochloric acid leaked and the exact cause of the accident.
