Cancer Hendricks returns to the field

Chicago White Sox closer Liam Hendricks (34), who was unable to participate in the World Baseball Classic (WBC) due to cancer, returns to the field.

Hendricks announced his return on the 28th (local time) through a club video. MLB.com reported that Hendricks is expected to join the team on the 29th, when the three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels begins.

Hendricks said in January that he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. Originally, he was scheduled to represent Australia at the WBC, but it did not happen because of his battle with lymphoma.토토사이트

The White Sox were cautious until Hendricks’ return. White Sox manager Pedro Grifol recently said, “We will prepare him for his return so that he can be the Liham Hendricks that we all want him to be.”

Hendricks took part in a six-game rehab at AAA and recently participated in a live pitching drill.

Previously, at the end of last month, Hendricks posted a photo of his battle with cancer through SNS and said, “I have been judged to be completely cured.”

Hendricks signed a three-year, $54 million free agent contract with the White Sox ahead of the 2021 season. In two seasons with the White Sox, Hendricks recorded a 2.66 ERA with 75 saves in 128.2 innings and was selected as an All-Star for the second year in a row.
