Chicago White Sox closer Liam Hendricks (34), who was unable to participate in the World Baseball Classic (WBC) due to cancer, returns to the field.
Hendricks announced his return on the 28th (local time) through a club video. MLB.com reported that Hendricks is expected to join the team on the 29th, when the three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels begins.

Hendricks signed a three-year, $54 million free agent contract with the White Sox ahead of the 2021 season. In two seasons with the White Sox, Hendricks recorded a 2.66 ERA with 75 saves in 128.2 innings and was selected as an All-Star for the second year in a row.
