“Let’s go on a date” to a 20-year-old female passenger with insufficient balance… raped taxi driver

A taxi driver who allegedly raped a female passenger while going on a date when her check card showed “insufficient balance” was sentenced to a suspended prison sentence.

According to the legal community on the 9th먹튀검증, the 11th Criminal Division of the Gwangju District Court (presiding judge Koh Sang-young) sentenced taxi driver A, who was handed over to trial on charges of similar rape and forcible indecent assault, to one year in prison and two years of probation. He was also ordered to attend 40 hours of sexual assault treatment.

Mr. A picked up a 20-year-old woman, Mr. B, in a taxi in Dong-gu, Gwangju, around 4:00 am in August last year. After arriving at her destination, Mr. B used a debit card to pay, but her card was rejected due to insufficient balance.

When Mr. A saw the bewildered Mr. B, he made up his mind to molest her and asked her to sit in the passenger seat. She then forcibly molested Mr. B’s arms and legs, her main parts, etc.

Her crimes did not stop there. Mr. A said, “Let’s go on a date with Mr. A,” and she took Mr. B, who was frozen in surprise, and moved to a parking lot. She subsequently pushed her hand inside Mr. B’s clothes and raped her in a taxi cab. When Mr. B made clear her refusal, she pushed Mr. A with her arms, but after subduing her with her power, she continued her pseudo-rape.

The court found her guilty of the crime of Mr. A. However, the disclosure of her identity and the order to restrict her employment were exempted. This is because she has no history of being punished for the same type of crime, and the effect of preventing recidivism can be expected only through lectures on sexual violence treatment.

The judge said, “Mr. A’s guilt is not light, and the victim must have felt great fear and sexual shame for this crime.” The reason for the sentencing was revealed, saying, “I will determine the sentence by taking into account the fact that I have acknowledged and reflected on all of them.”
