It is the first time in 14 years that Mexico has reached the quarterfinals of the WBC since the second tournament in 2009.

With 2 hits, 5 RBIs and 2 runs scored, the first hitter, Arosarena, centered on the firepower of the other line.

Mexico, who scored 2 points first with a sweeping right-handed hit by Loudi Teles (Milwaukee) from 1 out 2nd and 3rd base in the top of the 1st inning, gave 1 point at the end of the 1st inning, but Arosarena made it 3-1 in the top of the 2nd inning and scored another 1 at the end of the 4th inning. Points were given and the game continued with a 1-point difference.

In the top of the 6th inning, Mexico intensively attacked the Canadian mound’s shaken team and scored a lot. When lead batter Luis Urias (Milwaukee) walked and Alec Thomas (Arizona) hit heavily, catcher Austin Barnes (LA Dodgers) got a walk and filled the bases with one out, second and third base, and Arosarena swept the left field at the right time. He hit a double and made it 6-2 in an instant. In addition to Meneses’ timely hit in the ensuing match, Mexico ran away with a 5-point lead and split the game.
